Came here specifically to swim with the Southlake YMCA being closed. I called ahead to ensure that the pool was open, and I was told that it would be. When I arrived, I was told the pool would be closing in five minutes. I drove 45 minutes one way to get in my swim workout I wouldn’t waste your time going here, I’d recommend going to one of the many other local YMCA’s That can be more professional and provide more accurate information. Pretty disappointing. Won’t be returning.

Dirty gym the moment you step in, nasty never clean machines, restrooms smell at 5am(not cleaned) always overcrowded. I never see nobody cleaning this place.Omni was 100 percent better. Expensive membership. Not worth it. You work out in a silence because there is no radio or TV playing. Terrible.

My wife and my kids love coming here. My 15 year-old goes multiple times a week so does my wife They get good workouts in and no complaints. She likes going into the women’s sauna After her workout and they are doing construction for an add-on. One thing she is concerned about is there being a coed sauna after the construction is done. She has heard that the Crownpoint location has a coed sauna, and it’s always filled with men. She has spoke with her friends, and they all do not like it and feel uncomfortable. Hopefully they keep the women’s sauna where it is and maybe just add another

I typically don’t like leaving negative reviews but the health club has really gone down hill since YMCA purchased Omni. I was a long time member of Omni before ymca purchased. One of the main issues is the health club has so many members now, the facility cannot properly accommodate everyone. So many memberships have been sold, the facilities exercise equipment just can’t support the crowds. Excessive wait times to use equipment, just isn’t a pleasant experience anymore. It’s really a shame. it’s been so bad lately these youths of today are now coming up To other members while using the exercise equipment and telling them they were using the equipment, when they clearly were not. Either someone is using the exercise equipment or they are not, simple as that. If the equipment isn’t being used, it’s open for people to use. I have yet to see any ghosts using exercise equipment. So, if the exercise equipment is open and someone starts to use it, no one should be allowed to step up to guests telling them they were using the equipment and proceed to take the exercise equipment over from someone else. I have seen it happen multiple times recently for myself. I tried talking to staff but

Came here first time after it was converted from Omni to Y. My home Y is in Crown Point. Still getting used to the new set up and the way gym is layout now. Pluses: 1. Ladies have their own separate saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzi unlike in Crown Point where sauna is coed and crowded like a can of sardines at all times. Ladies locker room looks exactly how it was at Omni. It’s my favorite part. Negatives: 1. Cardio equipment is upstairs. It’s dingy up there like in the storage room. I wish they kept it where it used to be on the main floor. 2. They got rid of the ladies workout area and no area designated for stretching and light weight workout. Crown Point has a perfect spot for that utilized mostly by women where you can grab a mat after cardio and do abs or stretching. There is also a rack of weights which is nice in Crown Point. I couldn’t find any weights in Schererville location, and couldn’t see any mats. It’s a huge area with machines and equipment sporadically placed. It’s very hard to find what you need if you come here for the first time. 3. No signal. Be prepared to ask for WiFi password as there is 0 signal in here in Schererville Y. 4. The kids, even girls, are no
